Content Creator – Social Media/Website

Would you like to use your social media and website content skills to support your local Football League? If so, volunteering as our social media officer with NWYFL could be for you.

The North Wilts Youth Football League is a grassroots football league for over 6500 youth players across more than 50 clubs in the Wiltshire area. The League is run by volunteers who meet every 4 weeks to ensure the continued development of an already successful grassroots football league. Ultimately the Management committee are a team of volunteers all working towards the same goal of providing children with a safe and fun environment to play grassroots football.

In this varied role, you will be helping to shape the Leagues social media strategy, producing high performing digital content, and establishing creative best practice across the major social platforms.

What the role involves:

  • Maintaining our current social media accounts.
  • Determining the future social media strategy for the League so that we are able to promote the League to all our different stakeholders. This will include deciding what additional platforms we should be utilising, and the tools needed to support content creation across the multiple platforms.
  • Creating creative content for our existing social media channels (YouTube [@NWYFL] & X [@nwyfleague]), the league has a well-established YouTube channel where viewers can find footage of a wide range of league organised fixtures.
  • Keeping up to date with NWYFL events (Cup competitions and Mini Soccer events) to ensure the League website is kept up to date and relevant.
  • Thinking of innovative ways to drive online engagement.
  • Identifying target audiences and being up to date with current trends.
  • You will be required to volunteer some time on Sundays throughout the season visiting different grounds within the Swindon and local area using the Veo camera to record games which you will then upload to the League YouTube channel.

Training for this role:

Mandatory training that you need to undertake for this role is:

·  Online Safeguarding for committee members FA course

Where and when you would volunteer:

This is a remote working role although the team meet once every 4 weeks in person in Swindon, Wiltshire (in the evening for a few hours). As previously mentioned, there are League events throughout the year which always require volunteer presence to ensure they run like clockwork!
